Camden Hills Regional High School This new school is organized to support a teaching style that clusters departments, with math and science in one wing, humanities in another, and manual and fine arts in the third. The cafeteria is more like a food court, with several serving stations. This allows for a full hour lunch period for everyone so that extracurricular activities can be held during the day. The site is steep, with wetlands and ledge, but careful location of the building minimized disruption to natural features. Geothermal heat from wells 1,500-ft. deep helps keep energy costs low for cooling and heating. And a radiant-heating system provides more even temperatures and greater comfort in classrooms. |
